On June 30, the General Party Branch of the School of International Education, the General Party Branch of the Library, and the Party Branch of Huzhou Museum (Huzhou Art Museum) co-hosted a signing ceremony for the Party Building Alliance as well as a themed activity celebrating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Thirty-five Party member representatives from the three Party organizations took part in the event.
Held in the Library on the East Campus of the university, the ceremony was presided over by Xuan Yumei, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Library. The three parties integrated reading collection resources, distinctive exchange platforms and local red cultural venues in Huzhou to jointly build a "Six Joint Initiatives" Party Building Community. They strive to forge an integrated Party building brand that integrates scholarly education, international education and museum aesthetic education, and carry out extensive universal reading and aesthetic education outreach for Chinese and foreign youth as well as citizens of Huzhou.
During the ceremony, the Party secretaries of the three organizations successively signed the Letter of Intent for Alliance Cooperation – "Scholarly Hushi · Pioneer of Aesthetic Education" and the Letter of Intent for Alliance Cooperation – "Hushi Understanding China · Pioneer of Aesthetic Education", marking the official establishment of the Party Building Alliance. All Party members faced the Party flag and reaffirmed their oath of Party membership to stay true to their original aspiration and founding mission.
Afterwards, each Party secretary delivered a mini Party lecture in turn. Xiang Yu, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of International Education, centered on the theme "Hushi Understanding China" and shared educational ideas on cultivating international students who understand and befriend China under the guidance of Party building. Zhou Ying, Secretary of the Party Branch of Huzhou Museum (Huzhou Art Museum), presented the achievements of building the "Pioneer of Aesthetic Education" brand. Following the century-long red thread stretching from the popularization of literature and art in Yan’an to new mass literature and art, Xuan Yumei pointed out that "popularization" lies at the core of cultural work. Relying on the university-local Party building alliance, the three parties will break venue barriers, spread red culture and popularize aesthetic education among Chinese and foreign youth.
Following the mini lectures, all Party members watched the red documentary The Undercover Agent Qian Zhuangfei to draw motivation from Party history stories. They also visited two exhibitions: the red-themed book exhibition marking the 105th anniversary of the Party organized by the university library, and the exhibition The Watch of Half a Quilt commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March organized by Huzhou Museum, engaging in on-site red revolutionary education and exchanges.
This Party Building Alliance represents an innovative measure to integrate Party building and professional work between the university and local institutions. Moving forward, the three parties will leverage the alliance platform to jointly organize red book fairs, museum research tours, cultural salons for Chinese and foreign youth, bilingual guided tours and other activities. They will give full play to the vanguard role of Party members, build a distinctive university-local interactive Party building brand, and empower youth education and Sino-foreign cultural communication through high-quality Party building.
